I'll contribute to the con fund tomorrow, assuming the Friday $$ comes in. I hope this works out! I don't remember seeing many people of color at ANY con, not even Hispanic/Latino people here at Texas cons--though there were a few Latinas, if I remember correctly, down at Armadillocon some time ago. I really hope that it works out *once they're there*, as I have been kind of uneasy at a lot of cons myself . . . for various reasons. I mean, the person who's a newbie feels weird enough without knowing they're "the representative of African Americans" or what-the-hell-ever, you know? So, anyway, I shall keep a VERY positive thought for this situation. I think it'll be good, but the worst would be if some kind of RaceFail incident were to happen . . . egad, disaster. And if everyone's tippytoeing around, then it'll feel weird, too.

It's kind of a no-win deal, now that I think about it. But I shall hope! This WILL WORK . . . WILL WORK.
