He would do this goofy thing where he put both his front paws on a surface higher than the one he was on -- somebody's ankle would do, or a book -- and then flop sideways. That's almost always how he lay down if he had a choice. He had put his paws on the arm of the chair and then flooped so all four paws were piled up. And then he would look very pleased and triumphant.
