I hate belts,too, but several years ago I found one kind that I tolerate. It's braided elastic, and I can set the prong anywhere within the braid, so I can easily adjust to after-dinner wear. Sears has one for 7.95 that looks like the ones I got from Junonia (Junonia doesn't carry them any more). It's easier than sewing darts or putting new elastic in waistbands (which I've been doing to new pants).
