i would recommend some sort of PT exercises even if not through your medical folks--you've immobilized it for a bit and it will be good to do some things to build up some loss of strength. i still do my knee PT exercises on both legs--it doesn't hurt anything to try to keep the structure strong and i can do a couple while i wait for things to heat in the microwave which is a good use of that sort of time.
