I know. I glanced at the preamble to the Constitution the other day and that is far less emotional than the Gettysburg Address, but it set me off just the same.

What happened to us is pretty complicated and depressing -- not that I pretend to really know, but you can see the rot right at the beginning in slavery and the compromises made around it.
