This was also mid-stream -- they always insist on that -- but mercifully it was not first thing in the morning, though I hadn't had my tea yet.

I know all about the home screening kit. I've got one sitting accusingly on my dresser right now. When I was given it, we were having ongoing plumbing problems necessitating that all four members of the household use a single bathroom, so I put off trying to do the test. I guess I should give it more priority. It almost always makes me giggle a lot because it's so absurd. When I first starting doing them -- I can't tolerate colonoscopy prep, so I have been doing the tests for some time now -- they told you to, um, deposit your sample on sheets of newspaper, which not everybody even has about the house any more; and it was left up to you to dispose of everything. At least that has changed.
