I don't know what their reasoning was. However, Raphael and I don't go anywhere and haven't since hiking season ended, other than walks outside in the neighborhood, where everybody will cross the street half a block away when they see you coming, if you don't do it first.

David was going a few more places, but Lydy had to do so much running around to get ready for the job. I know they asked her about that kind of thing, but I have no idea if that figured into their assumptions or not. Also, she might have actually had a less common symptom, whereas nobody else really had any.

I kept meaning to ask you if you happened to have extra masks. But one thing I didn't touch on in the post and might need to make a followup post to mention is the effect of that kind of stress on my mental functioning. It was like suddenly developing ADHD overnight. Well, maybe it wasn't much like that at all. But I couldn't keep a thought in my head. I wrote notes to myself, but I didn't look at them later on. The same thought would occur half a dozen times and I still might not act on it.

I'd love another silk mask if you have one to spare. They are so much less stuffy.

I think I was skittish about washing the mask partly because it's so pretty and the silk is old. But it's beginning to be hard to even reconstruct my thought processes, insofar as that's even a good term for them. I'll probably put the mask in the washer on delicate and then air dry it. I don't have a lingerie bag, but I've got some nylon mesh pouches for corralling small items in one's suitcase, and they are washable, so that should work.
