Oh dear! I made sugar cookies with my 3.75 y/o yesterday and that was enough stress! My husband is a germophobe, he’d have had me throwing that pie crust straight out if a cat licked it, but I figure like our child’s often germy hands (no matter how frequently we wash them), the cooking will kill the worst of it XD (Please don’t discourage me these fantasies, and also we have no cats anymore so it’s an intellectual exercise.)

My husband loves mince pies. Can’t stand them myself (I cannot get near anything with raisins, the smell makes me nauseated), but luckily they are available in plenty in the shops here, along with Christmas cake and Christmas pudding. One year he made me a raisin-free Christmas cake and it was amazing.
