I was thinking about this driving to Gloria's -- her driveway is a tangle of hairpins through an oak parkland being devoured by eucalyptus and native trees, and just like the prairie it's right now sporting a lot of flowers again -- mostly asteraceae (I mean, composite flowers whose names I don't know), things related to finnochio and queen anne's lace (apiaceae I can't distinguich one from another) and evening primrose (at last, a plant I can be sure about).
I was thinking that it was odd how alike the seasonality of flowers is in these two places which are so unalike in climate. Probably there's a universal truth in there somewhere.
