I always regard the first junco sighting with the same emotions as the first sighting of Orion; joy at seeing old friends mingled with the dread and curiosity of what kind of winter said friends have brought.
Channel 13 (is it still the old KTCI Channel 17?) started showing Michael Wood's In Search of Shakespeare today. He's a bit on the overeager side, but it was great fun nevertheless.
