Writing my congresscritters to say that Robert Byrd is the only one of them with any sense or (in any sense) gumption. Well, possibly phrasing it a bit more tactfully. Or not.

Scraping slush off the sidewalk while the weather is warm enough to permit this.

Taking all the trash out, ditto.

Cleaning the upstairs catboxes.

Working on my book.

Doing laundry.

Rereading all the Liavek books (research for current novel).

Rereading the Secret Country books and THE DUBIOUS HILLS (research in aid of an insane project I am contemplating).

Reading new stuff so my brain won't freeze up.

Socializing more. (Ugh, is my present response to *that*. Maybe in the spring.)

Getting back to reading newsgroups. (Works as a bearable form of socializing, as does Live Journal.)

Finishing LIMIT OF VISION.

Calling the Multispeciality Clinic to beg for more free drugs. Ugh, ugh, ugh. I hate that.

Baking. It's winter, now is the time.

Walking daily. I have fallen off disgracefully. I hate walking indoors, and the notion of getting on a bus to go to a mall to walk is just too maddening to contemplate. But it's warmer now and there is less glare ice about.

Writing short stories. (Yes, we are now into the territory of the pipe dream.)

What I have been doing:

Minimal amounts of most of the above, plus I am not really sure what. Oh, right, I know -- looking for my birth certificate and marriage license so I can replace my lost Minnesota ID card. Note to those with impending nuptials and a lot of sentimentality -- changing your name means that you have to cart an extra document about with you to prove that you ARE you when applying for photo ID. If you never lose anything, I suppose it doesn't matter. I lose things a lot, inside and outside. And in my head, too.

Leafing through the Secret Country books looking for landscapes.

Having lunch with CL and dinner with Daedela on the same day, plus piling a family telephone call atop it. Nnnnng. All went well, it was fun, I should just spread my fun out more.

Cooking for my mother's birthday party, and attending it. I did rediscover a very good naturally vegan spaghetti sauce. It's not what Raphael would call high-test (that is, it hasn't much protein in it), but it's very tasty. It has a whole cup of parsley and a whole cup of other mixed herbs, all finely minced. I upped the garlic considerably. I really don't understand recipes that call for one clove of it. What is the point?

Planning improbable spring gardening feats. (This also counts as research for the present novel.)

I had better go do something else than this, anyway.
