Liavek is a shared world invented by the Scribblies and various friends, notably John M. Ford, Bill Colsher, and Jane Yolen, in the 1980's. There were five collections of short stories, edited by Will Shetterly and Emma Bull, published beginning around 1985 and continuing for fiive or six years. Jane Yolen, Gene Wolfe, Greg Frost, Megan Lindholm, Nancy Kress, John M. Ford, Walter Jon Williams, Barry Longyear, all the Scribblies, and a number of other writers I should not be forgetting all wrote stories. Liavek is a very large port citiy in a Mediterranean climate. The books never sold as well as the publishers would have liked and are mostly forgotten, but I'm fond of my characters and always wanted to write more about some of the secondary ones from my five stories in the anthologies.
