Your ability to recount this in one go has me awestruck. Very glad that you have arranged something!

I don't know for sure that I have my insurance for next year. As best as I could determine, my policy will continue, I still have some sort of subsidy, and they are now convinced that I am First Nation, and very ill. This is because they kept calling me with a recording that ran through an huge list of possible conditions, starting with arthritis and ending up with cancer, and asked if you had any of them. I'm guessing that eventually some pleasant person will call to help me manage my "condition" and be nonplussed that how I manage it is with diet and occasional aspirin.

Fortunately I showed as having no income for the First Nation business, so I didn't lie about anything. How they got this from a one-time contracting job, I have No Clue.

I combed through policies carefully last year. This year I received a letter telling me policies are going up 25% in my district, and just grabbed the same one again, hoping it is close to the same.

I hope the subsidy comes through, because I cannot afford the cost of this policy otherwise. They all have large deductibles. Guess I will be calling the company to find out what is what come Monday.
