By the way, what does the title of this post mean? It reminded me of the year our tomatoes never ripened (tomatoes are a bit tricky in shady Seattle yards, and inexpert gardeners like us have given up -- plus that was a really bad summer and lots of people had trouble) and I made a bunch of green tomato chutney.
