No overall mist of greening leaves, but the occasional fantastical bud, sticky-tight, or half-open, or frothing out its small leaves in unrecognizable shapes. I can just imagine it! i can just hear the woodpeckers.
--This is just about the season (slightly later) when The Dubious Hills begin. I don't think I said, but one thing that was really special about reading the book when I did was that it was happening at the same time of year! Like reading The Dark Is Rising at Christmastime.
