David got a business call at around 10:30 this morning. Around eleven, I went upstairs to my own room, debating whether to just get up early or sleep a bit longer. I fell asleep, and woke with a start at 12:30, remembering why irregular waking patterns are bad -- I'm supposed to take my blood pressure medication at the same time every day.

So I was bleary and not paying attention, and I took the lisinopril, which I'm supposed to take in the morning, and then for some unknown reason I took the doxyzocin mesylate, which I am supposed to take in the evening. Then I noticed. So I didn't take the other two morning drugs, since I didn't feel a huge great whack of blood pressure medication like that could be a good idea.

I tried to call the Medicine Clinic. They are closed for lunch, with no means of leaving a message. When I called at one, not unnaturally, the line was busy, and busy, and busy again. So I called my old nephrologist's office. They are the ones who concocted this drug regimen in the first place, and I knew that they had a real person taking messages during lunch hour. She took a message for me. Now I'm waiting for them to call back, obsessively taking my blood pressure -- it's not doing anything very alarming, but my pulse rate is high because I didn't take the beta blocker.

I guess I need two pillboxes, one for morning, one for evening. I don't see how people on, say, an AIDS cocktail manage, I really don't.
