Here's what I know about my programming schedule for Minicon. Subject to last-minute changes and the whim of the universe.

Friday, 8:30 - 9:30 pm
The Artist & Musician as Protagonist
Pamela Dean, Charles de Lint, Mary Kay Kare (m), Adam Stemple, Jane Yolen

Saturday, 11:30 - 12:30 pm
Writing for the Young Adult
Pamela Dean, Laura Krentz, Adam Stemple (m), Jane Yolen

Saturday, 2:30 - 3:30 pm
Autographing. And sharing the timeslot with Lyda Morehouse, which means I can't possibly be bored.

Saturday, 4:00 - 4:30
Reading. I expect to be reading from Going North.

Sunday, 2:30 - 3:30 pm
SF, Gatekeeping and the Literary Canon
Jan Bogstad, Pamela Dean, CJ Mills, Teresa Nielsen Hayden (m)

I'm leaving town for a week on Monday, so I really need to get myself home not very long after that last panel. Maybe if I left by five and took a taxi rather than suffering the vagaries of the bus system.

Whee. That looks like a fun panel to moderate.

MKK--who doesn't seem to have gotten a schedule yet...

I'm not very good at readings, but the Artist etc. is after my t-shirt table duty and I'll see if I can start a half-hour late for the young adult.

As I recall, there is but one bus from that neck of the woods that runs twice a day on weekdays (who knows how often on Sundays). I think the taxi is a wise choice if you can't find a friendly fannish cab. (If I'm around at the correct time/space coordinates, I'd be happy to transport you, but have no idea what I'll be doing by then.)

Those first two panels sound fascinating. Of course, I remember Con Jose's panel on writing for children, and that was a kick. Tad Williams remarked that he didn't know he was writing for children until he'd be at a signing and books would appear on the table with no apparent motive force and little voices would say "please sir would you sign my book please."

ooh. Suddenly I really, really want to go to Minicon--you AND Charles de Lint AND Adam Stemple AND Jane Yolen? Wow! (I don't know who Mary Kay Kare is, but if she appears in that company I'm sure she's neat people too.)

I hadn't been planning to go, but that might be about to change. Thanks for posting about it!

I'm going to be leaving in the late afternoon (Easter dinner with the family), so why don't we talk about whether I should ferry you home when I go.
