I thought this information might be of interest to local people who didn't hear about the Fantasy Matters Convention this weekend in time to register or plan to spend the entire weekend there. This is an academic conference, rather than a fan-run convention, and it has some different customs that are kind to those of the last-minute persuasion.

Most panel discussions, lectures, and readings at the convention are free and open to the public. The keynote speeches and some other events are not. But anybody could drop by for a particular reading or discussion. The program schedule is here. I'm not really trying to drum up more of an audience for my own reading, but do note that, for example, P.C. Hodgell will be there, and that other, local authors are reading or presenting papers.
