I have an account on Dreamwidth, with the same username as on LJ. I have no idea what I will do with it unless LJ goes kerflooey, but I did write a different profile. Apparently I can't talk about my life without mentioning the Arthropoda.

I was unreasonably irritated by the division of interests into categories.

But I am very grateful to have been offered an invitation code. One's mind is very strange, sometimes.

P.

When you go back to edit your interests they are no longer divided into categories. I think the categories are simply to help new users think of different interests.

I'm currently annoyed because, for some reason, I can access LJ from my work computer but I can't access DW. I have an account on Dreamwidth with the same username as on LJ, and I've given you access.

I know that my work firewall/filter blocks access to dreamwidth.org, but not LJ. :-(

I'm hoping that it's somehow tied into the prominent 'beta', setting off a keyword block. In that case, I stand a chance of getting to it after they get out of beta.

Hadn't thought of that. It might well be the case at a university.

A request for you

Hi Pamela! I am a Carleton grad ('96), and our San Diego Carleton alumni club is reading Tam Lin! It's my first time reading it, and I'm really enjoying it. I love how the mention of buildings and activities brings me right back! I wanted to ask you a favor--do you have any premade "handouts" I could give to the club, such as good bookclub questions or matching up the buildings or something like that? i'm sure we're not the first group to do this, and if it wasn't too much trouble, I thought I would ask you. It would be totally awesome if we could conference call with you if you would be interested and willing May 17th. My email is baconsuz@yahoo.com. Many thanks for reading this! Sorry to comment here, but I wasn't sure of the best way to contact you. Best regards, Suzanne Bacon

Saw the name "Dreamwidth" come up on posts by a number of LJ folks, so went googling to find out what it was.

A part of me wants one (new toy! shiny!), and is being promptly tsk'ed by another part of me (already have perm LJ! which itself needs updating more frequently!).

I love that Jo's (at least, I think it was Jo's) phrase "pixel-stained technopeasant" is specifically included in their Diversity Statement. *g*
