I have a very high opinion of my husband's photographic abilities, but often wonder if might be perhaps a little biased. So I don't usually link to his blog unless the photos have something to do with me.

However, I was so delighted with these pictures from the Minnesota Zoo that I am linking to them.

Giraffes, with black tongues; fierce prairie dogs; scary wild boars touching noses; a demonstration of what giraffes do with their legs; supercilious and startled ostriches; macaques giving a preview of what Quaddies can do; zebras grazing in an alien landscape; and more.

Have fun, if it's the kind of thing you like.

They are great photos. I'm stealing the fierce prairie dog for my work computer wallpaper.

It's very much the kind of thing I like, and this is a very good set demonstrating David's photography skills.

I so love giraffes that I am more than a bit surprised to be most amused by one of his photos of an ostrich. It's the sheer unlikeliness of that neck and head on that body, and with those legs.

The facial shots are great throughout. Thanks for the link!

I don't have any trouble with that kind of bias; in fact, I think it is a good thing unless one is in a profession which requires objectivity in the field including for loved ones' work. Since that doesn't apply link away. Of course I'm probably pretty biased about his work myself.

But that aside, these are stunningly good photos. I thought the ones with the zoo worker(?) feeding the giraffes was particularly amazing. With the head on her shoulder you really get a sense of the size. David should try to pitch them to the zoo.

They're wonderful. Those giraffes, so intensely interested in what their keeper is serving up, are priceless.

Those are astonishing. Portraits of animals that show personality and character. I love them.

Oh thank you -- these are amazing photos. [Unknown site tag] took me to the zoo when I was visiting her last August, and I have fond memories which these bring back. The giraffes are lovely, but I think my favorite is the ostrich with its head down. Very very nice work.

Of course you have a high opinion of his abilities, but anyone would, I should hope, I certainly do.
