Speaking of Tolkien-esque: When greykev and I went camping a couple weeks ago, I had my first view in quite some time of the stars away from light pollution of the city lights. Our campsite was heavily wooded, so the view of all the many stars was through the tops of the denuding trees. I thought it looked very much like the treetops were hung with stars. I wish I could've taken a photo of it. It was quite striking. I thought to myself, "This must be how the elflands got their design." It made me think of fairy lights in the trees, as depicted in books, films, art, and video games.
