Nothing is actually the matter. I am just very crabby. Eight degrees as the high today, forsooth. It was 45 on Thursday. All the food in the house is boring. The house is filthy. My book is terrible. I feel just exactly like a bored energetic seven-year-old. No, don't wanna, don't wanna, don't wanna, whatever it is I just don't. Nyah.

Chumley is sick, poor honey, and over at the Small Animal Hospital at the University. It might be pancreatitis or inflammatory bowel disease or something weird. Poor Lydy is worried, and this is using up money she had other plans for. Fester is wandering about calling for his companion.

Eric is back, which is a tremendous goodness. He was too worn out to want me to stay the night yesterday, but we had a very nice time together anyway. Toliman purred a lot. Eric told me about the mockingbirds. He also called this evening, and utterly cracked me up by using the word "biographize." "Is that a word?" I demanded, through my giggles. "Well, I'm sure Lydy would say it wasn't," he said, "but when I try to think of another way to say it in less than a phrase, I can't." "I just wondered if it were in common use in your field, or if you made it up on the spot." "well, no, it isn't, but the OED will probably say it dates to, to, to 1657." I looked it up. 1800. Three citations. This improved my mood a lot, but when I went to find something to eat, it went crabby again. Maybe I need to flee to warmer climes too. Oh, well.

I must go glare at my stupid book. Grrrrrr.
