I honestly don't know; I too was under the desk with a book during that lesson. I get the impression that when I was growing up a tip was expected for delivery services but now things are rather confused. The company that delivers our groceries has a policy against tipping; their employees are not allowed to accept tips. Raphael told me that when we had Ikea deliver a really huge order, R had to run after them to give them their tip, though they seemed pleased with it -- so maybe they don't expect it?
I don't usually remember to tip people other than in restaurants and hotels, but the horrible heat index and the horrible stairs made me think it would be a good idea.
