P: "Well, they're a good idea for VIRUSES, aren't they?"
R: "Get away from me with your situational ethics."

I have a really stellar camping trip with arkuat to write up, but at the moment I'm alternating blowing my nose and getting ready for the MinnStf meeting we're hosting on Saturday. At least by then I won't be contagious and can make the vegetarian portion of the dinner offering without fear of supporting viruses against the human race.

I've sometimes imagined really dangerous viruses--say, ebola or Spanish flu--having conversations like we have about global climate change.

Virus 1: I dunno; I just think our growth may be unsustainable. If we kill the planet, we'll all die.
Virus 2: La la la, I can't heeeear youuuu.

I've been blaming my cold on the person one seat behind me on the train, who coughed the whole way to Montreal.

That would certainly do it! I always try to tell myself that coughing sneezing people just have allergies. Sometimes I'm sure they do. I hope you are on the mend.

I might even say I was mended; lots of vitamin C drops and an excess of sleep can accomplish much.

Sunday will be Day 8, so I should no longer be contagious. I just hope I don't have the racking cough that is so often a sequel to these affairs.

Hope you are feeling better, and that your gathering was as lovely as expected. (You might also want to point out to R. that certain viruses are being used successfully as weapons to fight cancer -- so it might not be worth writing them off entirely. ;-))
