But I knew the odds were good. I'm behind. I don't even mean on entries. That's standard. It's the comments. I really appreciate them. But it's just like posting to a newsgroup. The energy necessary to make the initial remarks is less than that necessary to cope with
reaction. I'm not talking about flamewars or something, but merely benign thoughtful commentary, even just fluff. I'm not saying don't comment. That would be profoundly silly. But reactions are likely to be delayed. I am of a Composting Tendency.

I should have mentioned that earlier. I suppose that's pretty funny.

The nice thing about journals, as opposed to spaces with more cooperative goals, is that you can use them as you like. There isn't an obligation to reply to comments - fortunately, or I'd rarely say anything. It's your journal - you can't use it wrongly.

Composting Tendency is no bad thing. There's a metaphor about pearls in here somewhere but it's not quite coming together. *hug* Good to see you here, whatever pace you should happen to end up posting at.

No Reply Necessary, although I can't deny that I wouldn't mind being patted on the head by a real Published Author (wow gasp choke) ;)

Nobody's going to whack you for not responding to comments... after all, the initial point of a commenting system was so that readers could comment, not that posters and readers could carry on long discussions about the meaning of life, the universe, and homicidal bunnies.

I am enchanted by; I am of a Composting Tendency.

Visions of deep fertile boxes of lush warm fodder.

Means good things will be produced!

The cool thing about lj is that you're not talking to anyone directly, and so the responses don't feel quite as pointed to me. You can also turn commenting off for individual messages if you like.
