pameladeanI see that my last entry was made on Saturday. Later that day, Raphael pulled a back muscle. It is rapidly improving, though of course it has the effect of most back injuries, even minor ones, of making various movements painful long after it's started to improve. We did ice and ibuprofen and please-let-me-do-that-even-if-you-think-you-can, and really it went very nicely, very amiably with each party praising the other for patience and kindliness. I wouldn't mind its not happening again, however, and I am sure that the actual sufferer feels exactly the same.
When I was a small child I wanted to be a nurse; then I realized that fundamentally I did not like strangers, and sensibly changed my course. It was odd this weekend to feel the fundamental rightness of my decision. I didn't at all mind taking care of my sweetie; it made me feel better about the whole scary thing. But I am remarkably clumsy. And I still don't like strangers.
