pameladeanThe leaves of the Norway maples that line our street turn yellow only every four or five years. It takes a long, mild fall to cause them to show their colors. Most years, they just shrug off their green leaves in November, a botanical eye-roll at Minnesota weather.
The sky is peach-colored above their warm yellow. Along either side of the street is a long, brilliant, precise aisle of fallen leaves.
The weather radio is yammering. "The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Hennepin County in East Central Minnesota until 6:15 p.m. Central Daylight Time. ... The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Isanti County in East Central Minnesota. ... The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities has issued a tornado warning for Isanti County in East Central Minnesota. ...
