Yesterday evening David drove me to Office Max for packing tape, to Baja Sol for dinner, and then at last to the airport post office, where we had a nice 21st-century moment when I realized that I had not brought a telephone number for the recipient of my manuscript, and asked David, who has the internet on his phone, to please look it up.

Volume 2 is out of the house, shortly to join Volume 1 at Puffin Books.

I'll have editorial letter soon enough, and a copy-edited manuscript (bleah!) soon enough after that, but for the moment I am taking matters very easy. I am hopelessly behind on LJ and may or may not systematically catch up.

My first act as a free person, other than laundry and reading whatever I like for as long as I like, will be to visit the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden with Eric.

I will try to post something of substance soon. In the meantime, if you recently suggested to me a bit of verse for a location spell, or, quite some time ago now, emailed me with remarks about being a teenager in the 1980's, I would be much obliged if you were to email me again, saying whether you want to be in the Acknowledgements of the book, and, if so, whether I should use your LJ handle, your real name (please provide that, if I might not know it), or some other appellation.

Pamela

Congratulations! If you used the Spenser, feel free to credit Kris Larson. If not, it's enough for me to spend the rest of this evening squealing around the house that I'll soon(ish) have a new Pamela Dean book to read.
