Postscript -- of bees and boilings
Apr. 12th, 2003 11:19 pmI forgot to say, I saw my first bumblebee of the spring, soaring gloriously in the twilight. I do not have many flowers for her. Maybe she can find Minnehaha K's hepaticas.
As I went about the house this evening, I smelled a damp organic scent. Ah, I thought, the smell of spring. However, when I went into the downstairs kitchen to fill up one of the cats' waterbowls, it developed that Lydy had coopted the largest stockpot to boil some of the wood for her acquarium in.
Also, I might have finished Chapter 4. I have to think about it.

Date: 2003-04-14 12:53 pm (UTC)I saw several roly-polies and ladybugs today, and some little flies. And a swarm of tiny moths in the arbor vitae. No doubt they want to do something nasty to it. But I'm glad the insect-eating birds will have a bit to go on with.
