Things noticed yesterday on a walk with David:
Daffodils and purple violets blooming on the south-facing sides of houses; scilla blooming at random.
Crows, cardinals, finches, robins seen; bluejays heard, chickadees heard.
Things noticed in yard:
Crocuses blooming; one wild geranium out of three putting up foliage; the first of the waterlily tulips blooming, one red Appeldoorn tulip half open, the rosettes of hairy bellflower taking over everywhere, apparently hellbent on beating out the motherwort for Most Encompassing Nuisance Behavior by an Otherwise Welcome Plant; more scilla blooming; daylilies becoming large; bleeding-heart up, hollyhocks up, tradescantia and daffodils and grape hyacinths all showing foliage; leaves on the White Rose of York bush I was worried about, though it has some winterkilled bits; oriental lilies starting to show; snowdrops blooming in the front yard as well as the back; a milliard tree seedlings where no tree seedlings should be; winter aconite blooming by the front sidewalk, where I forget I planted it; goldenrod and beebalm up. Whee!
It's going to be time to mow the grass before I really want to.
