Belated Kudos to the Supreme Court

Well, to most of them, anyway.

Thank you, Justice Kennedy. And bless your weaselly hearts, you majority.

I am wondering what it would take, just in my private accounting, to make up for the 2000 election decision. More than this. But this is splendid.

And Clarence Thomas, one of the dissenters, dissented for one of those principled reasons relating to the court not legislating, but added that it was a remarkably silly law and that if he were the Texas legislature he'd repeal it forthwith.

Sometimes being on the Supreme Court does in itself confer some wisdom. Unfortunately, you can't always bet on it. But yes, if there must be dissent, that's a much better form than Scalia's. That man scares me silly.
