-- and I didn't really like it much. But I wouldn't mind being there today, where, starting at midnight, same-sex couples are being legally married in droves. Suppressing a lot of incipient neenering and sticking-out-of-tongues in the direction of the people who didn't want this to happen, I offer my delight and best wishes to everybody getting married who couldn't have done it yesterday. May you be able to continue in peace.

The best part was having them close Mass Ave to make room for the cheering crowd, while a handful of the Phelps Gang protested--outnumbered by the cops guarding the area, to say nothing of being outnumbered by the couples, the friends, the supporters....

I'm so happy to be a Cantabridgian today.

I didn't see that one.

I just saw the ones that said, "God blew up the Space Shuttle".

Whu?

There were only about 15 Phelpsians, really. It made me grin to see them SO OUTNUMBERED.

They're the people who say things like this: To every lover of Arminian lies -- believing and preaching that God loves every individual of mankind -- we say, You are going to Hell! Period! End of discussion! God's decree sending you to Hell is irreversible! Hypocrites! How can ye escape the damnation of Hell?!

The site is nastier than its name would indicate.

Hey, good deal! I have a new title! Mrissa, Lover of Arminian Lies. It's not really up there with my superhero names, but one takes what one can get; it's not like anyone has offered me Empress of India lately.

And whatever happened to the concept of "Do unto others as you would have other do unto you?" she asked innocently.

My husband and I have been excited all day about this news. It's truly fantastic--and I hope that it sets a precedent for the rest of the states to follow.

I'm not even concerned about the protestors. I'm just thankful that the courts are not listening to a very vocal group and are instead paying attention the rights of individuals. Well done, Massachusetts!

A photo you may appreciate...taken in Portland a few months past, but appropriate, and amusing to boot: http://home.comcast.net/~jessliotta/pictures/marriageday10.jpg (http://home.comcast.net/~jessliotta/pictures/marriageday10.jpg)

I hope more states follow in Massachusetts' footsteps!
